Ellenville
Allen M
Browne. Browne describes his development as an
artist as lifelong process with the exploration, experimentation, research and
practice of producing quality water color, oils and photographs. Browne's
motivation, throughout this process pointed him towards the natural images
provided by this planet's glories. The visions provided by our natural parks,
and the wild and varied terrains as first seen by the original witnesses to the
beauty of this continent. The natural land forms and majestic scenery were a
starting point for his photographs and paintings. Through the years of
searching for the right image at the right time, something occurred to him-what
he began to see was "Man's intrusions" (civilized attempts) at
remaking the planet by showing what "Man" could accomplish. "Man's"
efforts have provided a wealth of architectural excellence, which Allen has
photographed. On Display at Ellenville Regional Hospital. Route 209,
Ellenville. 845-647-6400 or 845-210-3043. Through Friday, February 28. 8am-8pm.
Fleischmanns
Utilizing
Local Resources as an Alternative Energy Source. Jim Waters, Executive Director of the Catskill Forest
Association, will present the outcomes of the feasibility study conducted by a
consultant firm, Biomass Energy Resource Center (BERC), and funded by the DEP
and US department of Energy. The study regarding a woody biomass heating system
for our community was begun in 2011 and completed in 2013. The issues are
compelling from an environmental point of view as well as fiscally. In Governor
Cuomo's State of the State Address earlier this month, he highlighted the need
for cleaner communities and announced his Renewable Heat NY program. Jim will
discuss how the proposed biomass project for Fleischmanns would target the
Governor's goals and he will explore all of the relevant criteria of the
project in a 30 minute presentation and then take questions from the audience.
